Remembering Catherine Youssef Kassenoff

Even though Catherine had troubles in her daily life, when she could, she would help build the charity with me.  She always wanted to help, not just herself, but all people, men and women, suffering from her same Family Court struggles.

She loved yoga and law, and most of all, her children, and through her passions, together, the two of us forged The Share Institute, Inc. dba ShareLove.Fund by creating a curriculum for yoga degrees, New York Continuing Legal Education (CLE), and New York Real Estate Education Courses (REEDC).

Catherine has incredible attention to detail and was always free nights, holidays, the natural consequence of a straight-laced woman being deprived child custody; so, after work, she would help the charity by testing our courses out and, as such, she was one of our first program graduates in 2021 as well as our first attorney to attend our CLE course entitled Covid Response: Tenant Relief in July of 2022.

She continued to be instrumental in the development of our legal education coursework by tirelessly volunteering her time on weekends to edit and comment on our case law analysis and application.  She kept busy in productive ways, always with a helping hand. Catherine continued on to earn more ShareLove.Fund degrees in 2022 as well as assist in fundraising and community building activities through 2023.

In May of 2023, Catherine confided to me that she was finally “moving on with her life.”

She seemed so happy and I was happy for her.  There are no words for the void and loss I feel in the absence of Catherine’s calm warmth.  When people questioned whether she was really gone, I reminded them that Catherine ALWAYS told the truth

Catherine asked us to not let her death be in vain; and so, we honor our co-Founder by providing an eternal resting place, a sanctuary, for her “Final Documents” - Catherine’s Dropbox, copied without alteration, as received on May 27, 2023.

Please rest in peace Catherine.  Please have faith in the interconnectedness of all that we see and do not see, and always keep the faith that there can be good in everything, we just need to “close our eyes so that we can see.”

R.I.P.,

Ashley Share, Esq., the surviving founder of ShareLove.Fund and Catherine’s Philanthropic Partner
